inZOI achieves 1 million sales in just one week, according to developer and publisher Krafton, marking the fastest sales record for any game released by the South Korean giant.

Krafton’s rival to The Sims debuted on PC via Steam in Early Access on March 28, grabbing attention after players found they could harm virtual children due to an unintended glitch. Krafton swiftly patched this issue, calling it an "unintended bug."

Despite the controversy, inZOI boasts a ‘very positive’ Steam user review rating and peaked at 175,000 concurrent Twitch viewers, ranking third in the Games category. It also topped Steam’s Global Top Sellers List (by revenue) within 40 minutes of launch.

The in-game user-generated content platform, Canvas, saw over 1.2 million participants on launch day, with more than 470,000 pieces of content shared.

IGN’s inZOI Early Access review scored it 6/10, noting: “inZOI is a visually stunning life sim with big ambitions but lacks depth in its Early Access phase.”

Krafton credits its pre-launch promotion and community engagement for building trust and driving momentum. The global inZOI showcase and demo significantly boosted interest, the company noted.

CEO CH Kim stated: “We’re thrilled to bring inZOI to players worldwide via Early Access. Our team is committed to ongoing player communication and establishing inZOI as a lasting Krafton franchise.”

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to roll out updates with new content, including mod support and additional cities, all free until the full release.

In a recent message to players, Krafton promised swift hotfixes for reported issues throughout April, addressing player feedback on the game’s condition. The company described inZOI’s global community as “a groundbreaking experience,” while acknowledging it’s navigating challenges in optimizing communication.
