Sir Brante: Branching Narrative RPG Unveiled

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is now available worldwide on Android. This substantial, chapter-driven narrative RPG was first released for Windows in March 2021. Developed by Sever, a studio located in Tomsk, Russia, the mobile version is being published by 101XP.

A story of patience, morality, and willpower

The game is set in the oppressive Blessed Arknian Empire and follows the life of a commoner named Sir Brante. You are tasked with shaping his entire life, from birth to death. You begin with no title, no privileges, and very limited prospects.

The Twin Gods have decreed that each person must live according to their preordained Lot. The nobles are the rulers, the clergy are the enforcers of the divine order, and the commoners endure the suffering. Yet, in a world governed by ancient laws and merciless deities, one thing remains: your ability to choose.

Sir Brante's journey unfolds across multiple chapters, tracking his growth from childhood through adolescence and into his adult years. The experience resembles an interactive storybook, drawing inspiration from classic gamebook formats. Your decisions will shape your character's statistics and relationships, which in turn unlock or lock entire narrative arcs.

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante presents a grim reality

There are no guaranteed rewards for your actions and choices. You might betray your principles to shield your family. Alternatively, you could ascend the social ladder only to witness the Empire's collapse. You may join a clandestine organization or become an inquisitor. At worst, you might simply die.

If death does come, the game includes a resurrection system that allows you to retain your accumulated experience, reconsider your life's direction, and try again. Featuring numerous branching paths, the game is designed for multiple playthroughs to uncover different endings.

The narrative explores complex themes such as moral ambiguity, a rigid class hierarchy, and indifferent, watchful gods. At the center of it all is a single individual with the potential to change everything—or perhaps change nothing at all. This is the core ambiguity that defines The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante.

Sensitivity, endurance, and determination are the key traits that define Brante's identity and how he is perceived by others. If you are interested in authoring his story, you can find it on the Google Play Store.
