The eagerly awaited single-player action game, Lost Soul Aside, has been delayed by three months, shifting its release from May 30 to August 29, 2025, according to an announcement by its developer, Ultizero Games. After nearly a decade in development, the game was set to launch next month on PC and PlayStation 5. However, a statement from the developer indicates that the release has been pushed back to allow additional time for polishing the game.

"We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside," Ultizero Games stated. "We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."

Originally the passion project of solo developer Yang Bing, Lost Soul Aside has evolved into a significant Sony-published title under the company's China Hero Project. Bing, now the founder and CEO of the Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games, has seen his vision grow from a solo endeavor to a much-anticipated game highlighted at Sony's State of Play broadcast.

In a recent interview with IGN, Yang Bing shared insights into the game's long development journey. The excitement around Lost Soul Aside has been building since Yang Bing's initial reveal video went viral in 2016, with many praising the game as an exciting blend of Final Fantasy characters and Devil May Cry combat.

The game's protagonist, Kesar, wields a versatile shape-shifting weapon that allows players to switch playstyles. Accompanying Kesar is a dragon-like companion named Arena, who can summon abilities to aid in combat. Lost Soul Aside draws inspiration from its predecessors, focusing on aerial dodging, precise timing, combo attacks, and countering, alongside epic boss battles. The game's narrative spans multiple dimensions, weaving a sci-fi story with contemporary aesthetics. While the trailers offer glimpses of the game, Yang Bing describes Kesar's journey as one of "redemption and discovery."
