In a conversation with VGC, Rod Fergusson (Diablo series head) and Gavian Whishaw (Diablo 4 executive producer) emphasized that sustained player interest across all Diablo titles—from Diablo 4 to the original—is a key objective. Fergusson stated that Blizzard rarely shuts down games, citing the continued availability of Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo II: Resurrected, and Diablo III as evidence.
