Deadlock Gets a Big Update from Valve

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 27,2025

Deadlock receives a massive overhaul with a new patch from Valve, completely revamping its core map design. The four-lane structure has been replaced with a three-lane layout, bringing it more in line with standard MOBA conventions.

This significant change will drastically alter gameplay. The previous "1 vs 2" lane distribution is obsolete; now, expect a "2 vs 2" arrangement in each lane, demanding strategic readjustments from players in resource management and team composition.

Beyond the lane restructuring, the patch repositions neutral camps, buffs, and other map elements. A new "map exploration" mode has been added, allowing players to freely navigate the revised map without the pressure of combat, facilitating familiarization with the new layout.

The Soul Orb system has also been tweaked. Players can now accumulate souls even without directly securing the final blow, accelerating resource acquisition. Furthermore, soul effects have been refined, reducing their airtime.

This comprehensive update also includes adjustments to sprint mechanics and character balance, along with the integration of DLSS, FSR, NVIDIA Reflex, and Anti-Lag 2.0 technologies for enhanced performance. Numerous bug fixes further improve the overall gaming experience. Consult the official patch notes for a detailed list of all changes.
