CD Projekt Red établit une nouvelle norme en matière de développement de personnages non jouables (PNJ) dans The Witcher 4. Suite aux commentaires sur Cyberpunk 2077 et The Witcher 3, le Le studio vise à créer un monde véritablement immersif peuplé de personnages crédibles et engageants.

Le directeur du jeu, Sebastian Kalemba, a expliqué sa nouvelle approche : "Notre règle est la suivante : chaque PNJ doit donner l'impression de vivre sa propre vie, avec sa propre histoire."
