REPO Developers Announce Future Updates Including Duck Defense SystemREPO's development team has unveiled their roadmap, featuring a "duck bucket" mechanism to protect players from the game's notorious killer duck. Discover what's coming to this viral horror title and how Lethal Company's creator weighs in on its potential.

REPO's First Major Update Breakdown

New Defensive Tool Against The Duck Threat

REPO duck bucket defense systemThe inaugural update introduces a new map and revolutionary "duck bucket" tool to counter the game's signature waterfowl menace. Semiwork Studios unveiled their development plans through a YouTube video on March 15.

This cooperative horror experience for up to six players challenges teams to carefully extract items from terrifying environments. Players must contend with The Apex Predator - a seemingly harmless yellow duck that transforms into a deadly monster when disturbed, attacking players for ten seconds before reverting.

The upcoming duck bucket will allow players to contain the avian threat, preventing both accidental activations and constant pursuit. The update also promises enhanced character expressions and various quality-of-life improvements.

Parkour-Focused Museum Map and Public Matchmaking

REPO Museum map previewDevelopers have confirmed a new "The Museum" map designed to test players' agility skills. Extraction zones will feature visible boundaries to clarify valid drop-off areas.

Responding to community feedback, Semiwork Studios is implementing public lobbies with optional private matches and host moderation tools. "While a kick function might seem straightforward, it requires new server-side programming we're still mastering," the team acknowledged, suggesting this feature may arrive later than others.

Lethal Company Creator's Constructive Feedback

Since its February launch, REPO has drawn natural comparisons to Lethal Company. On March 15, Zeekers (creator of Lethal Company) shared thoughtful critiques via Twitter/X, praising the game's cooperative elements while suggesting improvements.

"REPO delivers fantastic moments when teams struggle to maneuver bulky objects through tight spaces," he noted before addressing key areas for refinement: "1) Expand voice chat range and reduce muffling effects 2) The game's mechanics work best in confined spaces rather than open areas."

Zeekers discussing REPO mechanicsResponding to fan concerns about silent enemy approaches, Zeekers added: "The game needs clearer ways to learn enemy behaviors, though I expect this is already in development."

Currently ranking as Steam's second best-selling game (behind only Counter-Strike 2), REPO has achieved over 230,000 concurrent players - approaching Lethal Company's peak numbers. This PC-exclusive horror experience continues gaining momentum with these forthcoming updates.
