"Death Stranding 2: Bosses Bypassed Without Combat"

Author:Kristen Update:May 16,2025

In the highly anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (DS2), players will encounter a groundbreaking feature that allows them to clear bosses without engaging in combat. This innovative mechanic was unveiled by DS2 Director Hideo Kojima during the latest episode of Koji Pro radio broadcasts on April 14. This feature is designed to assist players who might find boss battles challenging, offering an alternative way to progress through the game.

When a player fails a boss fight, they can opt to press "continue" on the game over screen. This choice will bypass the combat, instead presenting the player with visual novel-like images and text descriptions of the battle. This approach ensures that players can still experience the narrative context and progression of the story, even if they choose not to engage in the fight.

The introduction of this feature reflects Kojima's commitment to making DS2 accessible to a broader audience, including those who might not be as adept at combat-oriented gameplay. This aligns with the game's narrative-driven approach, emphasizing story and character development over traditional action elements.

In exciting news for fans, Hideo Kojima has shared that Death Stranding 2 is now approximately 95% complete. Using a 24-hour clock analogy, Kojima stated, "It’s at about 95% now… It feels like it is 10 o’clock (PM), speaking of 24 hours, Koji Pro’s DS2 is at 10 o’clock (PM), there are 2 hours left." This update suggests that the game is in its final stages of development, with just a few hours to go before it's ready for release.

DS2 is set to continue the narrative directly from the first game, with new story elements and characters that have already sparked significant interest among fans. Last month, at the South by South West (SXSW) event, Kojima Productions and Sony unveiled a 10-minute trailer that provided insights into DS2’s storyline and introduced new characters, including one that resembles Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series.
