Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Sales Near 2 Million

Embracer Group has announced the phenomenal success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, revealing sales nearing the 2 million mark. Just one day after its February 4th launch across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game sold 1 million copies, nearly doubling that figure within ten days. This represents a remarkable achievement for developer Warhorse Studios, whose medieval RPG sequel has seen exceptional performance, particularly on Steam where it boasted over 250,000 peak concurrent players—a significant leap from the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 seven years prior. While the actual peak concurrent player count is undoubtedly higher, encompassing console players, precise figures remain unavailable from Sony and Microsoft.

Embracer, parent company of Warhorse Studios via its subsidiary Plaion, highlighted Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's success, praising not only player and critical reception but also its strong performance. CEO Lars Wingefors attributed the achievement to the dedication of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver, expressing confidence in the game's continued revenue generation over the coming years. He cited the game's exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal as key factors, further emphasizing Warhorse Studios' robust roadmap, including updates and new content planned for the next 12 months.

Beyond Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Embracer anticipates the release of Killing Floor 3 later this quarter (January-March 2025). The company boasts over 5,000 game developers working on its upcoming titles, with 10 triple-A games slated for release over the next three fiscal years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these are from internal studios, and two from external partners. FY 2025/26 will see two triple-A releases towards the year's end, alongside several mid-sized titles including Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, Satisfactory (console), and the full release of Wreckfest 2, with additional unannounced mid-sized games.

Following recent challenges including staff reductions and studio sales (including Gearbox and Saber Interactive), Embracer retains key studios like 4A Games, currently developing a new entry in the Metro series.
