Bennett has long been hailed as one of the most valuable and versatile characters in *Genshin Impact*. Since the game's inception, he has remained a staple in numerous team compositions due to his robust support capabilities. However, with the introduction of Iansan in *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, slated for release on March 26, many are speculating whether she might serve as Bennett's replacement. This 4-Star Electro Polearm character from Natlan has caught the attention of the community, often dubbed the "Bennett replacement" due to similarities in their kits. But how do they really compare?
Iansan, much like Bennett, is primarily a support character focused on providing DMG buffs and healing. Her Elemental Burst, "The Three Principles of Power," is central to her support role, akin to Bennett's. However, their methods differ significantly. Iansan summons a Kinetic Energy Scale that follows the active character, boosting ATK based on her Nightsoul Points. This is unlike Bennett's stationary field that characters must remain within to benefit from his buffs.
Iansan's ATK bonus scales off both her Nightsoul Points and ATK when she has less than 42 out of 54 maximum Nightsoul Points. When she reaches at least 42 Nightsoul Points, the ATK bonus increases and scales solely off her ATK, suggesting an ATK-focused build for optimal performance. The unique aspect of Iansan's Kinetic Energy Scale is that it requires the active character to move to restore Nightsoul Points to Iansan, based on the distance traveled.
While both characters offer healing, Bennett outshines Iansan in this regard, providing up to 70% HP restoration, whereas Iansan's healing is less potent. Moreover, Bennett can heal himself, a feature Iansan lacks. Bennett also has the advantage of Pyro infusion at C6, a feature absent in Iansan's kit, which can be crucial depending on your team's elemental composition.
For exploration, Iansan provides unique advantages. She can use Nightsoul Points to sprint and jump longer distances without consuming stamina, adding a dynamic element to gameplay. However, for teams centered around Pyro, Bennett's Elemental Resonance, which offers a +25% ATK buff and Pyro infusion, makes him the preferable choice.
Iansan and Bennett share striking similarities, almost like siblings in their design and function. Yet, Iansan doesn't replace Bennett outright but rather serves as a strong alternative, particularly useful for secondary teams in challenging content like Spiral Abyss. Her Kinetic Energy Scale encourages active movement, offering a fresh gameplay experience compared to Bennett's static field.
If you're intrigued by Iansan and want to give her a try, you can do so during Phase I of *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, launching on March 26. Whether you choose Iansan or stick with Bennett depends on your playstyle and team needs, but both characters offer valuable support to enhance your *Genshin Impact* experience.
