Author:Kristen Update:May 14,2025

The weapon designs in *Monster Hunter: World* sparked a fair share of debate among fans, many of whom felt the weapons lacked uniqueness. With the upcoming *Monster Hunter Wilds*, fans were eager to know if Capcom would address these concerns. Now, thanks to insights from Director Yuya Tokuda, we have a clearer picture of what to expect.

When discussing the Hope series armor and weapons, Tokuda shared: "Incidentally, weapon designs in Monster Hunter: World generally retained a certain form, but they featured a customized appearance based on which monster materials were used. However, in Wilds, each weapon has its own unique design."

This statement directly addresses the concerns from *Monster Hunter: World*, ensuring that in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, weapons will stand out from one another. While *Monster Hunter: World* did offer some uniquely upgraded weapons, many remained quite similar, as seen in the comparison of the final aqua line Sword and Shield to the Pukei-Pukei sword and shield, and the final bone line long sword to the Jyuratodus long sword. These were the most upgraded versions at the game's launch.
