Devs Behind Zelda and Witcher Join Infinity Nikki

Infinity Nikki's upcoming release boasts a star-studded development team and a stunning behind-the-scenes documentary. This fashion-focused open-world game, debuting December 4th (EST/PST) on PC, PlayStation, and mobile, unveils its creation story in a 25-minute video.

The documentary reveals the ambitious project's inception in December 2019, shrouded in secrecy with a separate office to maintain confidentiality. The team, assembled over a year, faced the unique challenge of blending the established Nikki IP's dress-up mechanics with an entirely new open-world design. Game designer Sha Dingyu highlights the innovative integration, built from the ground up.

The team's dedication is evident, even extending to the producer's clay model of the Grand Millewish Tree – a testament to their passion. This fifth installment in the Nikki series marks a significant leap, transitioning from mobile-only to PC and console, representing a "technological and product upgrade," as stated by CTO Fei Ge. The video showcases the vibrant Miraland, emphasizing the lively NPCs with independent routines, adding depth and realism to the game world. Game designer Xiao Li highlights this dynamic environment as a key design element.

The game's stunning visuals are no accident. Beyond the core Nikki team, Infinity Nikki recruited top international talent, including Lead Sub Director Kentaro "Tomiken" Tominaga (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) and concept artist Andrzej Dybowski (The Witcher 3).
