Dent the Metal: Discover the Locations of NieR: Automata

In NieR: Automata, resource scarcity varies greatly, but even abundant materials can be quickly depleted by weapon upgrades. Dented Plates, a frequently needed component, are thankfully readily farmable.

Efficient Dented Plate Farming in NieR: Automata

Dented Plates are commonly dropped by:

  • Small Biped (all variants)
  • Small Flyer (all variants)
  • Small Sphere (all variants)

These basic enemies are prevalent throughout the game. However, relying on random encounters isn't optimal. The most efficient method involves farming a specific location.

The ideal farming spot is the arena where Adam is first encountered in the main story.

Fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point. Proceed deeper into the ruins and descend to the pit. Here, enemies constantly respawn, primarily the readily-defeated Small Bipeds. While their level might be lower depending on your game progression, their Dented Plate drop rate is surprisingly good. This location is also excellent for Titanium Alloy farming.

Alternatively, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups typically drop at least one Dented Plate. Exploring this area also yields Beast Hide. Higher-level Bipeds boast increased Dented Plate drop rates, so progressing the main story increases both enemy density and the quality of loot.

Consider equipping drop-rate-boosting plug-in chips to further enhance your farming efficiency. Remember, however, that death results in permanent chip loss.
