How to Skip Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Wilds

Want to skip the cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise? While Rise's story boasts surprisingly well-developed characters and a compelling narrative, some hunters just want to get straight to the action. If that's you, here's how to bypass those cinematic moments and jump into the hunt.

Skipping Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise

Feeling impatient? Simply hold down the Y key on a keyboard, or the back button on your controller. Hold it for about a second to skip. If you're using a less common control scheme, briefly press a few buttons during a cutscene; a prompt in the top-right corner will indicate the correct button to hold for skipping.

You can also pause cutscenes if you prefer to avoid missing anything important. While past Monster Hunter games sometimes featured less essential cutscenes, Rise's are mostly story-relevant. Skipping them is best reserved for repeat playthroughs.

For those who want a second look, you can rewatch cutscenes from the in-game menu. This lets you revisit the cinematics at your leisure, perhaps grabbing screenshots of impressive monster introductions. While this might slightly disrupt the narrative flow, some of the monster reveals are truly spectacular.
