New Requirements Emerge in Monster Hunter Wilds PC Benchmark

Monster Hunter Wilds PC Benchmark Released, System Requirements Lowered

With Monster Hunter Wilds launching in just weeks, Capcom has unveiled a PC benchmark tool on Steam, allowing players to assess system compatibility. Simultaneously, the game's PC system requirements have been revised downwards.

The benchmark tool, available now on Steam, requires shader compilation upon initial launch but is otherwise straightforward to use. This is especially helpful given the updated system requirements.

Previously, achieving 1080p at 60fps (with Frame Generation enabled) necessitated an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, or AMD Radeon RX 6700XT; an Intel Core i5-11600K, Intel Core i5-12400, AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, or AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU; and 16GB of RAM.

However, the updated requirements, as detailed alongside the benchmark, are significantly less demanding:

Recommended (1080p/60fps with Frame Generation):

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit) / Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 / Intel Core i3-12100 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Memory: 16 GB
  • Graphics Card (GPU): GeForce RTX 2060 Super / Radeon RX 6600 (8 GB VRAM)
  • Storage: 75 GB (SSD required)

This revised configuration should deliver the target 1080p/60fps performance with Frame Generation, according to Capcom. The reduction in requirements is notable.

Early benchmark results suggest performance improvements compared to the beta, particularly with Frame Generation active. However, Steam Deck compatibility remains uncertain.

A striking change is the reduced storage requirement. The game now needs only 75GB of SSD space, down from the previous 140GB. This is surprising given the typical trend of increasing game file sizes.
