Athenian Rhapsody devs announce Goobie Garden for Android

Nico Papalia, creator of Athenian Rhapsody, has unveiled his latest project: Goobie Garden. Initially surfacing during one of his livestreams, the game appeared to be just another experimental side project.

From Concept to Full-Fledged Mobile Experience

What began as a lighthearted concept has transformed into an ambitious live-service mobile game. Drawing creative inspiration from titles like Animal Crossing, Pocket God, Mario Kart, and Pokémon Go, Goobie Garden promises a unique gameplay experience.

Understanding Goobie Garden's Core Gameplay

At its heart, Goobie Garden is a creature-collection adventure set in a constantly evolving seasonal world. Players collect peculiar creatures called Goobies - each with distinct names, occupations, elemental traits, and personalities.

The gameplay revolves around nurturing these creatures through feeding and answering character-defining questions. Interestingly, the game even incorporates playful interactions like harmless punching (without counting as animal abuse!).

Every interaction influences Goobies' evolutionary paths, with the ultimate objective being guiding them toward their final forms.

Featuring Familiar Faces and New Challenges

The charming Thunder Goober mascot makes a triumphant return from Athenian Rhapsody, introducing three primary objectives:

  • Complete your Goobiedex collection
  • Strengthen bonds to evolve your Goobies
  • Assemble competitive teams for PvP auto-battles with monthly rewards

As a free-to-play live-service title, Goobie Garden will receive regular content updates including:

  • New Goobie species
  • Customizable realm decorations
  • Seasonal environment changes
  • Varied gear and cosmetic items

Upcoming Developments

The first playable beta for Goobie Garden launches in August 2025, with registration currently open via email. Early adopters will receive exclusive launch rewards when the full version releases in Q4 2025.

Excitingly, developers plan eventual crossovers with Athenian Rhapsody and the upcoming Tales of Tuscany. Meanwhile, don't miss our upcoming feature on Goat Simulator 3's Multiverse of Nonsense expansion.
