"Elden Ring Nightreign Ditches Poisonous Swamps"

Fans of the cooperative action game Elden Ring Nightreign might be surprised to learn that the iconic poisonous swamps, a hallmark of From Software games, will not be featured. This was revealed by Yasuhiro Kitao, the project's product manager, during a discussion with journalists. Although a similar location was showcased in the Elden Ring Nightreign trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents an entirely different setting. The absence of these notorious swamps is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, From Software's head, who is renowned for his affinity for swampy environments. Miyazaki's influence has brought such areas into Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series, but he did not participate in the development of this game.

On another note, there is buzz about the potential inclusion of an additional two-player mode in Elden Ring Nightreign. Currently, the game is set to offer one-player and three-player modes, with the developers citing content balancing challenges as the reason for initially excluding a two-player option. However, From Software is actively considering the addition of this mode, though no final decision has been confirmed yet.

Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and across two generations of consoles.
