Nestled in the northern expanse of Reaper's Coast, Bloodmoon Island is a mysterious locale shrouded in an enigmatic allure. Encircled by the deadly Deathfog and disconnected from the mainland due to a destroyed bridge, reaching this island presents a significant challenge. However, navigating to Bloodmoon Island is essential for deepening the main storyline and unlocking a host of intriguing side quests.

The game, Divinity: Original Sin 2, may leave you searching for clues across Reaper's Coast to find a way past the Deathfog. Here, we outline all the methods to reach Bloodmoon Island and advance your journey.

Spirit Vision Shows The Way

Originally, Bloodmoon Island was accessible via a bridge from Reaper's Coast, now in ruins. You can find the remnants of this bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, near the locations of Jahan and Witch Alice. Upon reaching the bridge, you'll also unlock the Driftwood Fields waypoint.

To proceed, activate Spirit Vision to illuminate the broken sections of the bridge. The bridge is fragmented and some parts are trapped, but with the right skills and items, you can traverse it safely:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: Obtainable in the game's first act, these gloves allow teleportation without learning the skill. Use them to teleport each companion across the bridge, albeit tediously.
  2. Translocation Skills: Skills such as Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, and Tactical Retreat enable teleportation across the bridge. Not all party members may possess these skills, so consider additional methods.
  3. Teleporter Pyramids: With four Teleporter Pyramids in the game, you need two to cross the bridge. Place one in a companion's inventory who can use translocation skills to cross. Once they reach the other side, the rest of the party can warp to their location.
  4. Fast Travel: Alternatively, have a companion with translocation skills cross the bridge to discover the Bloodmoon Island waypoint. The rest of your party can then fast travel to this waypoint, bypassing the need to cross the bridge.

Take The Ferry Across The Deathfog

For parties including Fane, an undead character immune to Deathfog, an additional route to Bloodmoon Island exists. Northwest of Cloisterwood lies a pier with an undead ferryman who offers to transport your party across the Deathfog. However, this is a deceptive offer; all but Fane will perish during the journey. If Fane travels alone, he'll arrive safely on Bloodmoon Island, allowing the rest of the party to fast travel to the waypoint he discovers.

Taking The Ferry Without Fane In The Party

If Fane isn't part of your group but you still want to utilize the ferry, you'll need at least two Teleporter Pyramids:

  1. Separate a companion carrying a Teleporter Pyramid and have them board the ferry.
  2. The companion will die upon reaching Bloodmoon Island's pier.
  3. Use the second pyramid to teleport the rest of the party to the dead companion.
  4. Revive the companion with a resurrection spell or scroll to continue.

Without Fane, taking the bridge remains the fastest and safest route to Bloodmoon Island.

Be cautious around the Undead Ferryman; attacking him can provoke a Deathfog retaliation, instantly killing your party. If you dare to challenge him, quick save first. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, an ordinary belt, and 3,750XP.
