Disable Mouse Acceleration in Marvel Rivals

Mouse acceleration is detrimental to competitive shooters, and Marvel Rivals is no exception. The game unfortunately enables mouse acceleration by default, lacking an in-game toggle. This guide explains how to disable it.

Disabling Mouse Acceleration in Marvel Rivals

Because the game lacks an in-game setting, you must modify a configuration file. Follow these steps:

1. Press Windows key + R, then type %localappdata% and press Enter.

2. Locate the Marvel folder, then navigate to MarvelSavedConfigWindows.

3. Open GameUserSettings.ini using Notepad (or a similar text editor).

4. Add the following lines to the end of the file:

   [/Script/Engine.InputSettings]
   bEnableMouseSmoothing=False
   bViewAccelerationEnabled=False

5. Press Ctrl + S to save, then close the file.

6. Right-click GameUserSettings.ini, select Properties, check "Read-only," click Apply, and then OK.

This disables mouse acceleration within the game. For optimal results, also disable it in Windows:

1. In the Windows search bar, type "Mouse" and select "Mouse settings."
2. Click "Additional mouse options" in the top right corner.
3. Go to the "Pointer Options" tab.
4. Uncheck "Enhance pointer precision."
5. Click Apply and OK.

Mouse acceleration alters your sensitivity based on your mouse movement speed. Fast movements result in high sensitivity, slow movements in low sensitivity. While convenient for general use, this inconsistency is disastrous for shooters like Marvel Rivals.
