Although no official announcement has been made, recent posts on FromSoftware and PlayStation Italia's Instagram accounts featuring Bloodborne have ignited a wave of speculation.

On August 24th, FromSoftware shared three images showcasing the game's title and the hashtag "#bloodborne." One image depicted Djura, a memorable hunter encountered in Old Yharnam. The others highlighted the Hunter exploring Yharnam's heart and the Charnel Lane graveyards.

While these posts might simply be a nostalgic nod to the game, dedicated Bloodborne fans on platforms like Twitter (X) are meticulously analyzing every detail, searching for clues hinting at a remaster. The timing, particularly with a similar post from PlayStation Italia on August 17th, has only amplified this speculation.

PlayStation Italia's post, translated, asked fans to choose their favorite Bloodborne location from a series of iconic images. The comments section is filled with passionate pleas for a Yharnam return on PC or modern consoles.

The Hunt for a Modern Bloodborne Continues – Almost a Decade On

Released exclusively for PS4 in 2015, Bloodborne boasts a fiercely loyal fanbase and widespread critical acclaim, often cited among the greatest video games ever created. Yet, a sequel or remaster remains elusive.

Fans point to the 2020 Demon's Souls remake (originally released in 2009) as a potential precedent. However, the lengthy wait for that remake has fueled concerns about a similar delay for Bloodborne. As the game's tenth anniversary approaches, anticipation is at an all-time high.

In a February interview with Eurogamer, Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki acknowledged the advantages of remastering the game for modern hardware, stating that increased accessibility for players is a key benefit.

Despite Miyazaki's encouraging words, the final decision rests with Sony, not FromSoftware. Unlike Elden Ring, Bloodborne's IP is owned by Sony, limiting FromSoftware's ability to comment on its future.
