Battledom: Alpha-Tested Strategy Game Emerges

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 01,2025

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled his upcoming title, Battledom, currently in alpha testing. This RTS-lite game serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's successful 2020 release, Herodom. Developed over two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles his initial vision for Herodom.

Battledom introduces dynamic RTS battle mechanics, offering players free unit movement across the map. Players directly target enemies and manually operate siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations enhance the gameplay, adding a layer of tactical depth.

Players use in-game currency to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. Customization is key; players equip units with various weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.

Quarry with stones in buckets and an elevator lifting a bucket of stoneResource gathering and crafting are central to Battledom. Players collect resources like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft items at the blacksmith, magician, or other specialized crafters.

Frenken's previous work, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This tower defense game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new hairstyles, body types, crops, and farm animals.

iOS users can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and news, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit. His other games are available on the App Store.
