Assassin’s Creed Shadows Delayed Again

Assassin's Creed Shadows' March Release Date Confirmed

Ubisoft has announced another delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows, pushing its release date to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for a February 14th launch, this latest postponement aims to further refine the game based on player feedback.

The game's journey to release has been marked by delays. A previous postponement, announced in September 2024, shifted the launch from November 15th to February 14th, 2025. While the initial delay cited the need to improve the game, this second delay specifically highlights Ubisoft's commitment to incorporating player feedback.

Marc-Alexis Coté, the game's vice president executive producer, emphasized Ubisoft's dedication to delivering a high-quality, immersive experience. He stated that the additional time will allow the development team to further "refine and polish" the game. This echoes the rationale behind the first delay, although the focus has shifted from internal development challenges to incorporating player input.

Release Date: March 20, 2025

The September delay resulted in pre-order refunds and the offer of free access to the game's first expansion for future pre-orders. Ubisoft hasn't yet commented on similar compensation for this latest delay, though the shorter timeframe might mitigate potential player frustration.

This additional delay may also be linked to Ubisoft's internal investigation into its development practices, launched to improve player focus and address recent disappointing sales figures. Incorporating fan feedback into Assassin's Creed Shadows could be a direct result of this initiative.
