Le prochain remaster HD de Luigi's Mansion 2 est l'œuvre de Tantalus Media, un studio avec un historique de remakes Nintendo à succès, notamment The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD et Skyward Sword HD . Le jeu original Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, sorti sur Nintendo 3DS en 2013, a été développé par Next Level Games. Cette nouvelle version Switch voit Tantalus Media prendre les rênes.
