Rebel Wolves — the studio led by The Witcher 3 game director and Cyberpunk 2077 co-director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz — has confirmed its upcoming dark fantasy action-RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, is set for a 2026 release.

During yesterday's Xbox Games Showcase, Rebel Wolves unveiled pre-beta gameplay footage. It follows Coen, "a young man transformed into a Dawnwalker — human by day, vampire by night," as he grapples with his newfound powers.

The reveals continue. On June 21, Rebel Wolves invites us to join them on the year's longest day, "when the line between day and night blurs, leading to unforeseen consequences." This 45-minute event will feature roughly 15 minutes of new gameplay with extended developer commentary.

We'll also get deeper insights into key gameplay systems. This includes the directional combat that blends swordplay, magic, and vampiric abilities, plus how players explore the world of Vale Sangora. The event will highlight the crucial gameplay differences between day and night, which significantly impact the story's direction.

"It's been a pleasure to finally show you more, and I thank our community for their incredible support," said Tomaszkiewicz. "When we first announced the game in January, we promised more gameplay details this summer. That moment is here.

"We invite you to join our Gameplay Reveal Event on June 21. You'll learn more about the abilities Coen gains as the Dawnwalker — a mysterious being straddling the worlds of day and night."

In The Blood of Dawnwalker, you play as Coen, a being who is neither fully human nor entirely vampire. With just 30 days and nights to save his family or exact bloody vengeance on his sire, you must navigate the consequences and the cost of his bloodlust. The central question for players is: is it worth sacrificing your humanity for those you love?
