Square Enix Announces Closure of Romancing SaGa Re:universe

Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server is closing on December 2nd, 2024. While the Japanese version continues, this marks the end of a four-year run for the global player base.

Two Months Remain

In-app purchases and Google Play Points exchanges ended on September 29th, 2024, following the last maintenance. Players have until December to enjoy the game's final two months.

The global release, launched in June 2020, received mixed reviews despite strong visuals and a generous gacha system. Unlike its successful Japanese counterpart, the global version lacked significant content updates such as Solistia and 6-star units, a year behind its Japanese counterpart, contributing to player dissatisfaction.

A Trend of Shutdowns?

Square Enix has closed several mobile titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games, preceding the closure of Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global service.

Romancing SaGa Re:universe, a turn-based RPG based on the classic SaGa series, offers players two months to experience its unique gameplay. Download it from the Google Play Store.
