The channeling effect is an improvement, but the return to the projectile lightning ball from WoW Classic, rather than the instantaneous bolt from Cataclysm, has disappointed some players.

Overall, the community largely supports the visual updates across Patch 11.1. There's hope that Blizzard will introduce new Glyphs allowing fans to opt for some of the original VFX, similar to the changes made with Shaman Ascendance forms in Patch 11.0.5.
