*Pokémon Unite*, the wildly popular mobile and Nintendo Switch title, features a dynamic online ranking system designed to challenge both solo players and coordinated teams. As trainers battle it out with their favorite Pokémon, they progress through a structured tier system that reflects their skill level. Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of all *Pokémon Unite* ranks and how they work.
In total, there are six primary ranks in *Pokémon Unite*, each divided into multiple classes to allow for incremental progression before advancing to the next full rank. Notably, higher ranks tend to feature more classes compared to the lower ones. It's important to understand that players only earn ranking points during ranked matches—quick or standard matches do not contribute to your rank. The complete list of ranks includes:
As the name suggests, the Beginner Rank is where every player starts their journey. It consists of three distinct classes to help new players ease into the ranked system. However, access to ranked matches isn't available right away—you must first reach Trainer Level 6, maintain a Fair Play score of at least 80, and collect five Pokémon licenses. Once these requirements are met, you can enter the ranked mode and begin climbing from the Beginner Rank.
Each ranked match contributes to your Performance Point total, which determines when you’ll earn Diamond Points for class advancement. The number of points earned per match varies based on performance, ranging between 5–15 points. Additional bonuses include 10 points for good sportsmanship, 10 simply for participating, and up to 50 bonus points depending on your current winning streak. Each rank also has its own Performance Point cap—once reached, you’ll earn one Diamond Point per match instead of regular Performance Points. Below are the caps for each rank:
Diamond Points serve as the core currency for climbing the ranks in *Pokémon Unite*. Accumulating four Diamond Points allows you to move up one class within your current rank. Once you've maxed out all classes in your current rank, you'll automatically advance to the first class of the next rank up. Each ranked victory grants +1 Diamond Point, while losses deduct -1. Players who have hit their Performance Point cap also receive +1 Diamond Point per match.
At the end of each season, players are rewarded based on their final rank with Aeos Tickets, which can be used to purchase items and upgrades in the Aeos Emporium. Higher ranks naturally yield more Aeos Tickets, and select ranks offer exclusive seasonal rewards that rotate over time.
Now that you know how the ranking system works, it's time to sharpen your skills, master your favorite Pokémon, and climb the ladder to claim the best rewards in *Pokémon Unite*.
*Pokémon Unite* is available now on mobile devices and the Nintendo Switch.
