Pokémon NPCs Torment Player in Hilarious Gameplay Clip

A Pokémon player is experiencing unexpected viral fame due to an overly persistent pair of NPCs. A short video shows the player trapped, besieged by incessant calls from these characters.

Pokémon Gold and Silver introduced the feature of receiving calls from certain NPCs after battles. These calls can range from friendly check-ins to story updates or rematch offers. However, this player's game appears to be malfunctioning, caught in a loop of repeated calls from two enthusiastic trainers.

Pokémon enthusiast FodderWadder shared a video showcasing this predicament. While in a Pokémon Center, the player receives a call from Wade the Bug Catcher, followed immediately by Youngster Joey. The calls repeat endlessly, with Joey requesting a rematch and Wade detailing his recent Caterpie training.

The relentless calls continue. After hanging up with Joey, the call repeats, immediately followed by another call from Wade. This cycle continues without interruption.

The cause of this relentless calling is unknown. While Youngster Joey's calls are notoriously repetitive, this level of persistence is unusual. FodderWadder theorizes a save file glitch. Other players find the situation humorous, suggesting the NPCs are simply eager for conversation.

Although players can delete phone numbers, the game automatically answers incoming calls. FodderWadder eventually escaped the call loop, but only after considerable difficulty finding a moment to access the menu and delete the numbers. This experience has made them hesitant to register new numbers for fear of repeating the ordeal.
