Orna Goes Green: MMORPG Raises Awareness through Gameplay

Orna, the fantasy RPG and GPS MMO by Northern Forge Studios, is hosting a unique in-game event, Terra's Legacy, to combat real-world environmental pollution. From September 9th to 19th, players can battle pollution-themed enemies and contribute to real-world cleanup efforts.

Fighting Pollution, One Gaia Apple at a Time

Terra's Legacy seamlessly blends virtual and real-world actions. Players locate polluted areas in their real-world surroundings and report them through the Orna app. Northern Forge then transforms these locations into in-game "Gloomsites," represented by Murk, pollution-themed enemies. Defeating the Murk raises awareness and allows players to plant virtual trees and Gaia apples in those same polluted areas. These apples can customize player characters and enhance their abilities, and are also harvestable by other players. The more players participate, the greater the impact, both in-game and in the real world.
