Ninja Gaiden 2 Black: New Game+ Mode & More

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 14,2025

Team Ninja has released a significant update (version 1.0.7.0) for Ninja Gaiden Master Collection’s Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, delivering highly anticipated features and improvements based on player feedback. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), this patch introduces New Game+, Photo Mode, and more.

New Game+ allows players to restart their adventure on any previously completed difficulty level, retaining all previously acquired weapons and Ninpo. However, these items will be reset to level 1, and progression won't skip to a higher difficulty.

A welcome quality-of-life enhancement lets players toggle the visibility of their projectile weapon carried on their back, accessible within the Game Settings of the Options menu.

Balance adjustments include reduced enemy HP in Chapters 8 and 11, increased enemy numbers in Chapters 13 and 14, and a damage boost for some of Ayane's attacks.

Numerous bug fixes address issues experienced on high-performance PCs, game-breaking bugs in specific chapters, and other stability problems. The complete patch notes are detailed below.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, initially a surprise release during January's Xbox Developer Direct, is an Unreal Engine 5-powered update of the classic action title. This enhanced version boasts improved visuals, new playable characters, and enhanced battle support functions. IGN's 8/10 review praised the game's visual improvements and excellent action, although noted the altered enemy health and number balance.
