Nexus Mods Controversy: Trump, Biden Mods Removed

Nexus Mods, a popular modding website, is facing backlash after removing over 500 mods for the game Marvel Rivals in a single month. The controversy centers on the removal of two mods that replaced Captain America's head with images of Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

The site's owner, TheDarkOne, clarified on Reddit that both mods were removed simultaneously to prevent accusations of political bias. However, this explanation hasn't quelled the outrage, with TheDarkOne reporting receiving death threats and other abusive messages following the removals.

This isn't the first time Nexus Mods has sparked debate over mod removals. A previous incident in 2022 involved the removal of a Spider-Man Remastered mod that replaced rainbow flags with American flags. The site's stance on inclusivity and removal of content deemed anti-diversity was publicly stated at the time.

TheDarkOne's concluding statement reflects a firm stance against the controversy: the site will not engage with those who object to their moderation policies.
