"Monster Hunter Wilds Surpasses 10 Million Sales, Capcom Reveals Success Secrets"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 11,2025

Monster Hunter Wilds continues to break records, soaring past 10 million units sold, establishing a new first-month sales benchmark for Capcom. This phenomenal success eclipses all previous records held by the developer and publisher, surpassing even the initial three-day sales of 8 million copies, which had already marked it as Capcom's fastest-selling game to date.

Capcom attributes the game's unprecedented success to several innovative features. The introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, has enabled a broader audience to enjoy the game together. Additionally, the simultaneous launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, unlike its predecessor Monster Hunter World which had a delayed PC release, has significantly boosted its appeal.

"The title provides an environment where a wider range of players can enjoy the game together with the introduction of crossplay, a first for the series, and a simultaneous release on PlayStation 5 system, Xbox Series X|S, and PC," Capcom stated.

The addition of the new Focus Mode mechanic and seamless transitions between settlements and ecosystems have further enhanced the immersive gaming experience. These elements, combined with Monster Hunter's inherent charm, have driven the excitement that led to the company's record-breaking first-month sales.

Looking ahead, Monster Hunter Wilds is set to expand with Title Update 1 on April 4, introducing a fan-favorite monster and the Grand Hub, a new in-game settlement for player interaction. Title Update 2, slated for the summer, will feature the return of Lagiacrus. For more information, check out IGN's comprehensive coverage of the Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 showcase.

The Monster Hunter series has already made a significant impact in the west with Monster Hunter World, Capcom's best-selling title to date at 21.3 million units. With its current trajectory, Monster Hunter Wilds seems poised to eventually surpass this figure.
