Monster Hunter Wilds: Guide to Using and Muting Voice Chat

Author:Kristen Update:May 04,2025

Interested in using or muting voice chat in *Monster Hunter Wilds*? Even though it's a multiplayer game, you're not obligated to chat with others. However, if you're keen on using it and you're not relying on external platforms like Discord or party chat, you'll need to know how to configure it.

How to Use and Mute Voice Chat in Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds Voice Chat Settings

All voice chat settings are located in the audio section of the menu. Navigate to the options, either in-game or from the main menu, and select the tab third from the right. Scroll down a bit, and you'll find the Voice Chat setting with three options: enable, disable, and push-to-talk. Choosing "enable" keeps the voice chat always on, "disable" turns it off completely, and "push-to-talk" activates voice chat when you press a specific key on your keyboard. Please note, the push-to-talk feature is exclusive to keyboard users.

Additionally, you can adjust the voice chat volume to control how loudly you hear others, and toggle the voice chat auto-toggle setting. The auto-toggle can be set to prioritize voice chat from quest members, link party members, or remain unchanged. Quest members are those you're currently on a mission with, which is often the preferred setting. Link members are those in your link party, which is useful when guiding someone through the game's story and waiting through their cutscenes.

That's all you need to know about managing voice chat in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. While the in-game audio quality might not match that of dedicated apps, having an in-game option is handy, especially for cross-platform play. We recommend using external apps for better audio, but the in-game feature offers convenience and flexibility.
