Insomniac's New Job Listing Hints at Early Production of Marvel's Spider-Man 3

A recent job posting at Insomniac Games suggests the studio is in the early stages of developing Marvel's Spider-Man 3. This follows the immense success of Insomniac's previous Spider-Man titles and leaves plenty of narrative threads from 2023's Spider-Man 2 ripe for exploration in a sequel. While Insomniac has confirmed Spider-Man 3's existence, details remain scarce.

Speculation surrounding Spider-Man 3 intensified after its inclusion in a leaked Insomniac game list following the PS5 release of Spider-Man 2. Leaks also suggest new character introductions to the Insomniac universe within this title, though a release date is likely years away.

A newly advertised position for a Senior UX Researcher at Insomniac provides a significant clue. The listing indicates the researcher will lead research for a AAA title, spending three months at Insomniac's Burbank UX Lab on a project already in early production.

Spider-Man 3: The Most Likely Candidate

Considering previous leaks, Marvel's Spider-Man 3 aligns most closely with this description. Marvel's Wolverine, another Insomniac project, is reportedly further along in development. Rumors also persist about a Venom-centric spin-off of Spider-Man 2, potentially releasing this year, making it an unlikely candidate for early development.

This leaves either Spider-Man 3 or a rumored new Ratchet and Clank game slated for 2029. Given Insomniac's current focus on its Marvel properties, Spider-Man 3 appears the more probable choice, though this remains speculation. Nevertheless, the confirmation of a new Insomniac game in early production is exciting news for PlayStation enthusiasts.
