Marvel Rivals players will start getting banned on consoles for using the keyboard and mouse

NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from a keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. This is due to the unfair advantage provided by increased control precision and maintained aim assist, particularly in competitive modes with auto-targeting.

NetEase employs advanced detection technology to identify adapter usage with high accuracy, resulting in account suspensions upon detection. The company states that these adapters create an uneven playing field, especially in competitive gameplay.

Separately, a correlation has been observed between higher FPS and increased ping in Marvel Rivals. While less noticeable at lower ping levels, a jump to 150ms from a typical 90ms can significantly impact gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with FPS settings to find an optimal balance between frame rate and ping. Some players suggest maintaining an FPS around 90 as a temporary solution, though this may differ from optimal settings in other games.
