Marvel Rivals Dev Promises a New Hero Every Month and a Half

NetEase Games confirms a steady stream of new heroes for Marvel Rivals, with a new character launching every six weeks.

Creative director Guangyun Chen revealed the post-launch roadmap in an interview with Metro. Each three-month season will be divided into two halves, each introducing a new playable hero. This commitment to regular content updates aims to maintain player engagement and continuously enhance the gaming experience.

"Every season will bring fresh storylines, new maps, and new heroes. We're splitting each season in half," Chen explained. "A new hero will debut in each half-season."

Marvel Rivals launched with a roster including popular characters like Wolverine, Magneto, and Spider-Man, but the upcoming seasons promise a significant expansion. Season 1, "Eternal Night Falls," already introduced Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second. While maintaining this level of character quality consistently is a challenge, speculation points towards Blade in Season 2, with fan hopes including Daredevil and other X-Men.

Beyond new heroes, NetEase plans ongoing balance adjustments and gameplay refinements. The game's initial success suggests a strong commitment to continued development and content updates.
