Initial plans for a Marvel Rivals Season 1 mid-season rank reset on February 21, 2025, were met with significant player backlash. This prompted NetEase Games to reverse course.

The developer announced that ranks and scores will be preserved at the halfway point of Season 1. Instead of a reset, players will need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions to earn new rewards. These rewards include a new Gold rank costume and various Crests of Honor (Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All designs).

This decision highlights NetEase's responsiveness to player feedback. Maintaining existing ranks offers top-tier players an extended period to compete at the highest level.

Season 1 Mid-Season Update Details:

Beyond the rank reset reversal, the update introduces two new playable heroes: The Thing and Human Torch. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) remain undisclosed, but are anticipated to impact the game's meta.
