Nintendo has rolled out a new Mario Kart World update resolving various gameplay bugs, including crashes that disrupted player sessions.

Version 1.1.1 is now live for download and will auto-install when Nintendo Switch 2 players launch the game. This marks the first major patch since the title's day-one update enabled online multiplayer two weeks ago.

Players have spent the last fourteen days uncovering Mario Kart World's hidden gems - from accessing Rainbow Road and Mirror Mode to finding numerous Nintendo references. However, some encountered stability problems that today's update specifically targets.

Mario Kart World has emerged as Switch 2's breakout launch title, outpacing Breath of the Wild's Japanese sales records. The game's bovine character Cow has gained particular fan acclaim - one Japanese farmer notably praised its authentic muddy rear detailing.

With players climbing online rankings and discovering Free Roam's P-Switches, anticipation grows for potential expansions featuring new tracks, missions, or cosmetic items.

"While the open-world transition doesn't revolutionize Mario Kart's core appeal, impeccable racing mechanics, the standout Knockout Tour mode, and Nintendo's trademark polish make this a worthy successor," noted IGN's review.
