No Man's Sky: Your Guide to Finding, Farming, and Crafting Solanium

Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusive to planets with specific climates. This guide covers gathering, farming, and crafting methods to ensure you always have a supply.

Locating Solanium-rich planets

Locating Solanium:

Similar to Frost Crystals, Solanium is found on hot, arid planets. While in space, scan potential planets. Look for designations like Arid, Incandescent, Boiling, or Scorched Planet. The scanner will also indicate Solanium availability.

Identifying Solar Vines

Once landed, use your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific areas. You'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While there, collect Phosphorus deposits, as they're essential for crafting Solanium.

Farming Solanium:

Establishing a Solanium Farm

After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can farm Solar Vines. Use Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes, planting Solar Vines with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. On hot planets, direct ground planting is possible. Allow approximately 16 real-time hours for growth.

Crafting Solanium:

Solanium Crafting Recipes

The Refiner offers several Solanium crafting recipes, mostly requiring Phosphorus (obtainable from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Recipes include:

  • Solanium + Phosphorus (to produce more Solanium)
  • Phosphorus + Oxygen
  • Phosphorus + Sulphurine
  • Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine

Note that all recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate visiting a hot planet. Building a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
