Mai Shiranui has caused a huge surge of interest in Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 enthusiasts have eagerly returned to the game to test out the latest addition to the roster: Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury series. This iconic fighting game by Capcom has already sold an impressive 4.4 million copies as of December 31, 2024. While fans have occasionally felt that the game lacks sufficient content, the developers have recently thrilled the community with the introduction of a new character.

Mai Shiranui marks the third fighter introduced in the second season, and her inclusion has significantly boosted the game's popularity. On the day of her release, the peak concurrent players on Steam soared to over 63,000, a stark contrast to the previous peak of 24-27 thousand players, and the highest since May 2024.

Players with a Battle Pass can unlock Mai Shiranui. In the World Tour mode, you can build relationships with her, learn her unique moves, and then put your skills to the test in the Battle Hub. Additionally, a second costume inspired by her appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has been added to the game, offering fans even more customization options.

The Battle Hub also welcomes a temporary guest, Professor Woshige, a renowned figure and developer in the fighting game community. Players can try him out until March 10. Alongside these exciting additions, the game has introduced new Master League ranks and rewards, enhancing the competitive experience.

Capcom has released a captivating trailer showcasing Mai's impressive techniques, further fueling the excitement surrounding Street Fighter 6.
