My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision

The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't initially aiming for a career in game development. In 2020, he was establishing himself as a writer and filmmaker. A collaborative game project with a college friend ultimately fell through, but the core story concept remained.

Alameen, undeterred, pursued the project independently, teaching himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine to bring his vision to life. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.

Unraveling the Mystery: The Game's Narrative

The game's story plunges players into a world steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, secrets, puzzles, and unexpected twists. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old mystery surrounding her father's disappearance. The truth, as the story unfolds, proves far more complex than she could have imagined.

My Father Lied masterfully blends ancient Mesopotamian culture with modern storytelling. The gameplay features straightforward point-and-click mechanics, beautiful 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree imagery.

Mobile Release Date

My Father Lied launches on PC on May 30th, 2025. Android and iOS versions are anticipated in Q3 2025. For more information, visit the official Kickstarter or Steam pages.
