There Will Be "Sort Of" A Sex Feature

During an "Ask Me (almost) Anything" session on inZOI's official Discord channel, three team leads, including Assistant Director Joel Lee, addressed fan queries about the game's realism and explicit content. Lee explained, "Our answer is: sort of. There is a feature in the game where you can clearly understand what's happening—the male Zoi and the female Zoi are together, likely in bed, with the intention of creating babies. However, the visual representation is left to your imagination. What you see isn't exactly what's happening; you have to assume it. Is that clear enough for everyone? It's there. Sort of. Maybe not to the level that everyone would have been expecting."

This statement suggests that while sex will be a feature in inZOI, the animations and depiction will be toned down to appeal to a broader audience. Given inZOI's focus on realism, fans might anticipate a more nuanced approach compared to the more whimsical style seen in games like The Sims.

Blurring Effects Don’t Work Well With inZOI

The developers also discussed why Zois shower with their towels on, attributing it to the game's art style. They noted that pixelated blurring effects, which work well in more cartoony games like The Sims, do not fit inZOI's realistic aesthetic. When applied, these effects appeared more sexually suggestive than intended. Additionally, a bug during testing allowed players to see Zois without visual effects in mirrors, which the developers have since addressed.
