Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Composers Snag Golden Globe

Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the composers behind the upcoming Naughty Dog title Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, have added another accolade to their impressive list of achievements: a Golden Globe for Best Original Score. This win celebrates their work on Luca Guadagnino's film Challengers.

The recent Intergalactic trailer showcased a preview of their score, alongside licensed tracks featured in the game. Reznor and Ross are renowned for their extensive collaboration, spanning decades and encompassing Nine Inch Nails, numerous award-winning film scores (including Academy Awards for The Social Network and Soul), Grammys, an Emmy, and a BAFTA. Reznor's previous game soundtrack work includes Quake (1996) and the main title track for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Accepting the Golden Globe from presenters Elton John and Brandi Carlile, Ross described the Challengers score as "never…a safe choice, but it always felt like the right one." The contemporary, club-influenced electronic score perfectly complements the film's edgy athleticism and sensuality. Given their current creative peak, Intergalactic's soundtrack is poised to be a standout.

Golden Globe Win Fuels Anticipation for Intergalactic

The unlikely pairing of Nine Inch Nails' industrial rock origins with the worlds of contemporary gaming and film has proven remarkably successful. Reznor and Ross have consistently demonstrated their musical versatility, crafting haunting soundscapes for The Social Network, ethereal pieces for Soul, and now, the mysterious soundscape for Naughty Dog's space-faring adventure. With online hints suggesting horror elements in Intergalactic, their score choice seems particularly fitting.

The Golden Globe win further amplifies anticipation for Intergalactic, potentially a significant departure for Naughty Dog. Given their impeccable track record, the game's soundtrack promises an exceptional auditory experience, regardless of the final game content.
