Insomniac's Resistance 4 Pitch Rejected

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 13,2025

Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch was made and the concept was strong, according to founder and retiring president Ted Price, the timing and market opportunity weren't right. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price revealed this unmade game as a personal favorite, expressing the team's passion for continuing the series' compelling alternate history and exploring the Chimera's origins.

The Resistance series, a set of first-person shooters developed by Insomniac after their Ratchet & Clank work, depicts an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Three games were released for the PlayStation 3 before Insomniac shifted focus to titles like Marvel's Spider-Man and newer Ratchet & Clank installments.

Price's recent retirement announcement after 30 years at Insomniac Games saw Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang appointed as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine next in the pipeline.
