Immersive Western Adventure Coming Soon

Cattle Country, a soon-to-be-released Steam game, is generating significant buzz among fans of Stardew Valley. This upcoming farming and life simulator promises a similar gameplay loop focused on building wealth, but with a captivating Wild West twist.

Castle Pixel, an independent developer with a history dating back to 2014 (known for titles like Rex Rocket and Blossom Tales 2: The Minotaur Prince), is venturing into the farming sim genre for the first time with Cattle Country. Steam's official description labels it a "Cozy Cowboy Adventure Life Sim," hinting at familiar farming mechanics like home construction and town development, alongside relationship building with villagers—a key element in cozy life simulators.

What Makes Cattle Country Unique?

The game's most striking feature is its distinctive Old West setting. Promotional materials showcase picturesque scenes: nighttime cattle herding by campfire light, a horse-drawn wagon traversing dusty trails. However, the game also promises more action-oriented elements, including old-west shootouts, bare-knuckle brawls, and even mining presented in a 2D Terraria-like style.

While core farming mechanics like planting, harvesting, scarecrow placement, and tree-chopping are present, Cattle Country incorporates unique festive events, such as a Santa Claus-led Christmas feast and a traditional square dance. Though a release date remains unannounced, you can add Cattle Country to your Steam wishlist now.
