GAMM: Italy

Rome's newest attraction: GAMM, the Game Museum! Now open to the public in Piazza della Repubblica, this expansive museum is the culmination of Marco Accordi Rickards' vision. Rickards, a writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus, is deeply committed to preserving and celebrating video game history. He describes GAMM as an immersive journey blending history, technology, and interactive gameplay.

GAMM builds upon the success of Vigamus, another Roman gaming museum that has welcomed over two million visitors since 2012. This new museum boasts 700 square meters across two floors, showcasing three distinct thematic areas.

Explore GAMM's Thrilling Exhibits:

  • GAMMDOME: A dynamic digital playground featuring interactive exhibits and authentic gaming artifacts, including consoles and donated items. The experience is built around the 4 E Concept: Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.

  • Path of Arcadia (PARC): A nostalgic trip back to the golden age of arcade gaming, showcasing classic coin-op games from the late 1970s through the 1980s, with a touch of early '90s nostalgia.

  • Historical Playground (HIP): This area delves into the mechanics of game design, allowing visitors to analyze game structures, interaction mechanics, and design principles. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes look at gaming history.

GAMM is open Monday-Thursday, 9:30 AM - 7:30 PM, and Friday-Saturday, 9:30 AM - 11:30 PM. Tickets are €15. Visit the official GAMM website for more details.
