Elden Ring Player Maximizes Weapon Damage, Encounters Critical Failure

Elden Ring Nightreign offers powerful gear for Nightfarers to conquer Nightlords. One player, testing the limits of a rare weapon, went viral for transforming their blade into a Nightlord-destroying force—only to see it collapse spectacularly.

Japanese YouTuber mintius (via Automaton Media) wielded the Marais Executioner Sword, a weapon that boosts attack power with each enemy defeated, though typically within limits.

Due to Nightreign’s time constraints from its approaching storm, this sword’s power usually stays in check despite its strength. However, mintius cleverly exploited specific enemy and encounter spawns to push its potential to the extreme.

According to Automaton’s translation, mintius spent roughly an hour battling mobs in the Wormface encounter with the Marais Executioner Sword to test its limits. Their attack power reached a maximum of 9,999 after defeating 725 enemies, with a final recorded damage value of 63,375. After the 727th enemy, mintius suddenly dealt no damage and was defeated.

The prevailing theory suggests mintius triggered an “overflow,” causing their damage to plummet from the maximum to zero. Similar to the urban legend of Gandhi in Civilization, exceeding the upper limit likely reset their damage to the minimum.

Mintius plans to further explore the Marais Executioner Sword’s boundaries, testing its limits and immense damage potential. They aim to perform a plunging attack on a Flame Chariot to see what damage numbers emerge. The results could be extraordinary.
