Elden Ring Nightreign Hits 300k Concurrent Players in Its First Hour

Elden Ring Nightreign, one of the most anticipated releases, attracted over 300,000 players within its first 60 minutes. According to SteamDB, the game started with 297,313 concurrent players at launch, climbing to 313,593 within just one hour.

While these numbers represent about a third of Elden Ring's all-time concurrent player peak, the achievement is notable given the game's Metacritic score of 77. Nightreign is currently the lowest-rated FromSoftware title in years, especially when compared to recent highly-rated releases like Sekiro (2019, score 90), Elden Ring (2022, score 96), and Armored Core VI (2023, score 86).

At Game8, we awarded Elden Ring Nightreign a score of 84/100. It successfully merges FromSoftware's signature challenging combat with chaotic multiplayer action, keeping players engaged round after round. Although cooperative and solo modes have some balance issues, the experience remains thrilling and intensely demanding. For our full review, check out the article below.
