"Dreadmoor: PC Game Blends Fishing with Post-Apocalyptic Mystery"

Author:Kristen Update:May 07,2025

Developer Dream Dock has exciting news for fans of post-apocalyptic adventures: they've announced Dreadmoor, a new first-person single-player action-adventure game inspired by the 2023 hit, Dredge. In Dreadmoor, you'll take control of a fishing trawler navigating the haunting waters of the Drownlands, a world transformed by a global nuclear war where continents have sunk beneath the waves, leaving behind scattered islands and the submerged ruins of ancient civilizations.

Your journey in Dreadmoor will involve fishing from your trawler, exploring the eerie landscapes, battling monstrous creatures, crafting essential items, and upgrading your boat to delve deeper into the mysteries of the Drownlands. As you sell your catch to survivors and complete quests, you'll inch closer to survival. Be vigilant, as the cargo hold of your ship can become a battleground where creatures might devour each other. The game promises over 100 species of fish to catch, with the most challenging ones lurking in the deepest waters and requiring the most unusual bait, offering substantial rewards.

Crafting and upgrading are key to exploring hidden depths and uncovering secret locations filled with mutated creatures and sinister mysteries, particularly at night. Radiation poses a constant threat, adding another layer of danger to your expeditions.

Dreadmoor is currently in development for PC, and you can get a glimpse of what's in store by checking out the announcement trailer and the first screenshots in the gallery below. If this sounds like your kind of adventure, you can wishlist Dreadmoor on Steam.
