Diablo 4 Set to Integrate Popular WoW Weapon

Diablo 4 Season 5 may bring a surprise for World of Warcraft fans: the iconic Frostmourne! Data mined from the Season 5 Public Test Realm reveals models strongly resembling the Lich King's legendary blade, hinting at its potential inclusion in the upcoming update.

The Season 5 PTR, running until July 2nd, is preparing the August launch of the update. This update will include new challenges, items, and quests, leading up to the October 8th release of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred.

However, the discovery by Wowhead of two Frostmourne models on the PTR servers is the real highlight. While its exact function remains unknown – cosmetic item, legendary weapon, or something else – the possibility of wielding Frostmourne in Diablo 4 is highly likely. The existence of two models suggests both one-handed and two-handed versions may be available.

Frostmourne's Arrival in Diablo 4

Frostmourne's significance in Warcraft lore is undeniable. Its cursed influence led Arthas to become the Lich King. Although destroyed and reforged in subsequent expansions, World of Warcraft itself never allowed players to directly wield it. Diablo 4 could be the first game to offer this unique experience.

This isn't the first time Diablo 4 has featured Lich King elements. Last October, the cash shop offered Invincible, a rare WoW mount, complete with Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination replicas. However, this new discovery suggests players might actually use the weapon, not just display it.

Season 5 is also expanding weapon options for certain classes. Druids gain access to polearms, one-handed swords, and daggers; Necromancers to maces and axes; and Sorcerers to one-handed swords and maces. If Frostmourne is a one-handed sword, every class in Diablo 4 could wield it.
